A community Christmas event hosted by the churches of Oakleigh. Building on our first event last year, this is a family friendly event so that all may enjoy the story and spirit of Christmas. Warrawee Park, Drummond St., Oakleigh.
The annual Memorial service is an opportunity to remember those close to us who have passed away, to celebrate the way Saints of the faith have touched us, to light a candle as a memorial to people who have shared their lives with us. All are welcome to worship and pray together, but we especially invite those for whom grief is recent. If you have friends or family who may find this worship useful, please invite them to come.
All are welcome to the Annual Tamil Christmas Carols worship service at the Oakleigh Worship Centre, 154 Drummond St., Oakleigh.

It has just been announced that the ABCs Choir of Hard Knocks has won an ARIA award.
“Who would have thought that in just over a year a group of over 50 homeless Australians would have captured the hearts and minds of people enough to be rewarded with an ARIA,” said the group’s spokesman, Adrian Panozzo.

Luke’s gospel has two provocative stories about outsiders who live out Jesus’ call to discipleship better than the religious establishment. It is a helpful reminder about receiving the blessings of God and living out our own call.

The Bendigo diocese in central Victoria has voted to reduce its net carbon emissions to zero by 2012. Its Bishop, Andrew Curnow, says the church has a moral responsibility to reduce its impact on the environment.
